Ali, Greiner lead West High at Pleasant Valley

BETTENDORF – West High had four runners in the top 10 on its way to fourth place finish at the 21st Pleasant Valley Spartan Challenge at Crow Creek Park in Bettendorf.

Ali Ali placed eighth in 16:42 and Kolby Greiner was ninth in 16:45 as No. 6 West High finished fourth in a field that featured five teams in the Class 4A rankings.

Edina, Minnesota won the team title with 45 points while 4A top-ranked Pleasant Valley was second with 72 points.

Eighth-ranked City High got a 15th place finish from Matthew Dodge in a time of 16:58 as the Little Hawks finished sixth with 167 points.

Ninth-ranked Johnston finished fifth, 20 points in front of City High while Muscatine was seventh with 177 points and No. 9 Dubuque Senior was eighth with 247 points.

West High had three runners in the top 25 as Andrew Murley placed 25th in 17:14.

Michael Taylor placed 26th for City High in a time of 17:14.
